Who is Keith Glenn Rubenstein?

Who is Keith Rubenstein? Keith first gained notoriety back in 2015 for blatantly mocking the people of the Bronx with his now infamous “The Bronx is Burning” Halloween party. But there’s more than just a disrespectful facade to this fallen tycoon, you see behind his pretension and almost random appearance in the South Bronx, there is a backstory. Keith Rubenstein was once a lawyer who was stripped of his credentials and disbarred for misconduct in 2008. Before his unprofessional conduct led to his disbarment; he was the lead lawyer for his now wife, Inga Banasewycz back in 1998. At the time, Inga was one of Rubenstein’s clients, and he represented her in a $3.5 million case against her “sugar daddy,” Wall Street businessman Orhan Sadik-Khan. Inga and her lawyer, Keith-y Baby, claimed she had been used by the businessman for sex when she was just 19 years old.

As per the LA Times, the “mistress meter of economic good times” went through the roof recently as New Yorkers were treated to yet another series of front-page tabloid tales about a “leggy” young paramour, a “Wall Street sugar daddy” and how their lubricious good times have come to a heavily lawyered end.

The Daily News howled: “Russian Beauty Slams Wall St. Exec with $3.5M Sex Suit.” The New York Post lured readers to its four-story, two-page love-nest package with: “The Kinky Tycoon: Ex-Model Files Dirt-Filled Suit.”

The LA Times again noted: In the lawsuit filed in state court, former model Inga Banasewycz, 28, alleges that PaineWebber advisory director Orhan Sadik-Khan, 68, kept her as his mistress for more than two years while making several lucrative promises. “The defendant agreed to pay the plaintiff the sum of $500,000 if she would not work, and would remain at home so that the defendant could meet her at lunchtime, or after work, for sex,” according to court documents. While charging that Sadik-Khan’s “appetite for sex was insatiable,” the court papers say that he insisted that Banasewycz “come to his house in (Old) Greenwich, Conn., so that they could engage in wild sex in his wife’s bed.”

Keith Rubenstein ended up marrying his client in 2000 and in May 2024, Inga filed for divorce/separation in the New York Supreme Court.

Keith Rubenstein claims to be a good businessman, he’s aligned himself with some of our favorite Bronxsters; our rockstar Michael Brady, Ruben Diaz Jr., Ruben Diaz Sr., SOBRO, Jerome Lamaar, Samuel Brooks, Devon Rodriguez, and Marco Shalma. But is he REALLY a good businessman?  As of 2025, reports have shown Keith-y Baby is now broke. We are also wondering if greed played a part in his losses.

So what happened? Why did Keith get disbarred? Why did he get into real estate and set his sights on the Bronx? Why is Inga divorcing Keith? Why did he sell the waterfront property in the South Bronx? Why did he sell his home on the UES? Why did he turn in the keys to the midtown property? Where is all the money Keith made from selling the (according to him the only) so-called “Piano District”? We will take a deep dive into his appearance in the South Bronx, his investments, his connections, his supporters, and the alleged fake promises he made to the people of the community.  Stay tuned, this story continues.
